Lisa A. Boehm
Lisa Boehm has applied, taught and written about science for over twenty years. After earning a B.S. degree in chemistry from the College of William and Mary, she began her career as a research chemist for a multinational, specialty chemical company. After nearly ten years of successful product innovations, she transitioned into academia, teaching physical science at a high school level. She now combines her passion for science with her experience in education as a freelance science writer, completing recent projects with Sundance Publishing and Millmark Education. Lisa resides in North Andover, MA with her husband and three daughters.
Glen Phelan
Glen Phelan's interest in science began the way it does for many people—as a kid exploring the natural world around him. Whether searching for the most colorful rock along a creek or trying to find the Sea of Tranquility on the moon, science provided (and still provides) a world of adventure, mystery, and fun. Glen has had the opportunity to spread his joy of science as a teacher and editor, as well as a writer of numerous books and articles. He lives with his wife, Susan, and daughters Jennifer and Jessica in the Chicago area.
Kate Boehm Jerome
Kate Boehm Jerome has worked with parents, teachers, administrators, and students for more than 25 years to develop programs that promote academic excellence. She began her career as a high school biology teacher but soon discovered the world of educational publishing where she quickly rose through the ranks to become the first female president of Scott Foresman publishing company. Following her successful corporate career, Ms. Jerome returned to writing and has authored more than 80 science books for children. Her programs have earned three NSTA/CBC Outstanding Science Trade Books Awards and a Teachers’ Choice Award.
Rebecca L. Johnson
Rebecca L. Johnson is an award-winning author of non-fiction science books for children and young adults. She has authored more than 70 titles, published primarily by Lerner/Carolrhoda and National Geographic, on topics ranging from environmental issues and natural history to cells and body systems. Johnson has also been writing books with a science literacy focus for various grade levels for nearly 10 years. She is based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
